An important “resto” project for a prominent custom collector. This is a true history custom being built originally by Harry Westergard. It features full fade- a-ways through the doors, ‘48 Caddy rear quarters and a ‘47 Caddy front end. The metal work was still pretty good shape when we got it in. We repaired the body, made it fit way better than they did back when it was first built, better fit and finish. Also had to repair some rust out spots from the years of storage, also had to repair some poor repairs done through the years.
The ‘41 Cadillac was owned by a guy named Al Lauer, he owned an Indian motorcycle dealership in Sacramento. He brought the car to Harry Westergard for repair after the car was caught in a flood. Harry said “as long as we have it apart, why don’t we…” …and another custom came to be. It was never published in any early publication, but Harold Bagdasarian, George Kutavinis and Dick Bertolucci all identified it. Maybe it got no ink because it was always in primer. The custom was built in 1948.

We did the full frame off project. It features a cool Caddy engine with old speed equipment. Stock rebuilt chassis, cut coil springs and de-arched rear leafs to get it low.

Interior was done in a traditional tuck n roll, handled by Dave Martinez, the traditional interior “go-to” guy.
